Our History
UDAAN Society was formed in 2004 when some young social workers who were working to eradicate polio decided to work on alternative strategies, instead of relying on community mobilization. The plan was to work on the deep-rooted factors and causes of any problem, not the problem itself. For this purpose, a banner was created and registered on 13/12/2004 under the name UDAN (United Development Association for the Improvement of Abandoned). Despite being registered by young social workers with qualifications in social work, financial administration, human resource management, agriculture, law, public administration etc., we have been favored by academics, professionals and government officials from all walks of life. Currently, the executive committee of UDAAN Society has eleven members who make important decisions and steer the organization’s future course of action. The team is dedicated to guiding the organization at each and every step.
Our Objective
At UDAAN, we strive to make a paradigm shift, from disorganized to sustainable development, to raise awareness about the issues faced by both the rural as well as the urban areas along with informing and educating target communities. We also try to make sure that the public participation in sustainable development as well as development programs and decision making takes place.
UDAAN also strives to improve the effectiveness and character of society’s disadvantaged and neglected people. We launch initiatives to enhance the standard of living of Low-Income Communities
We also work to improving early childhood identification and intervention, the goal of increasing services for identifying children between the ages of 0 and 5 implies a desire to identify young children who may need early intervention services, such as special education or developmental programs, as soon as possible.
UDAAN also works to diversify money sources in order to increase financial independence.
