WASH Project supported by UNICEF
Since 16 July 2025, UDAAN Society has been implementing a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh with the partnership of UNICEF. The project aims to improve access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation, and to promote sustained hygiene practices in households and institution level in 150 selected villages across 06 blocks of Amroha district. It works through community mobilisation, capacity building of local institutions and frontline workers, and a focus on schools and anganwadi centres. Women’s participation and leadership in WASH decision-making are a priority, and the project coordinates with government programmes to strengthen service delivery. By building local ownership and systems, it seeks to reduce water- and sanitation-related illness and ensure that services continue beyond the project period.
