Atal Bhujal Yojana (or, Atal Jal) is a groundwater management scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 95th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on 25 December 2019. The purpose of the scheme is to improve groundwater management in seven states of India.
UDAAN society is working as a District Implementation Partner(DIP) under this project in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh and mobilizing the village community to reduce the wastage of water and recharge the ground water such an manner ,so that ground water table started increasing day by day. Achievements under this projects: Line listing and GPS mapping of all ground water sources available in the allocated 11 Gram Panchayat’s, Social mobilization and awareness generation on importance of water and need of conservation of water for existence of human life, Water budgeting and preparation of water security plan etc.
