Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs launched a scheme PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM Svanidhi) to empower Street Vendors by not only extending loans to them but also for their holistic development and economic upliftment. The scheme intends to facilitate collateral-free working capital loans of INR10.K to 50 K for one-year tenure, to approximately 50 lakh street vendors, to help resume their businesses in the urban areas, including surrounding peri-urban/rural areas.
UDAAN Society is Working as an Implementation Agency for Aligarh Nagar Nigam for economic empowerment of street level vendors under Prime Minister Svanidhi Yojana since the year 2021. Under this project, we are identifying the street vendors, registering them with the PM Svanidhi Program, and facilitating their linkage with different microcredit schemes under PM Street Vendors Aatmnirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANIDHI). Besides of it we are supporting Aligarh Nagar Nigam on updating of socio-economic profiling of benefitted street vendors .
